Short summary of your issue No game audio on linux with pipewire

Game Version 1,2,2

What OS are you playing on?
Linux

What platform are you using?
Steam

Do you have mods enabled? No

Have you tried verifying your game files (Steam only)?
Yes

How much "pain" is this causing you?
7

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
Unlike with stellaris, crusader kings 3 does not open an audio stream under pipewire on linux. However, this should be the case since pipewire is compatible with pulse, alsa, jack and OSS audio clients.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Launch the game with pipewire as your sound server.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
The pipewire sound server.

I have attached a save game
No

I have the same problem, and I am using Manjaro, but installing the pipewire-alsa package does not fix the issue. It seems that CK3 makes no sound output at all, as it does not appear in my KDE Audio Volume menu.

yeah enabling alsa support didn't fix it whatsoever, it seems like modern paradox games like imperator and ck3 make no effort at all to spawn audio streams with pipewire (even though it provides full jack, alsa and pulse integration).

I am with the same problem, have moved to pipewire few week ago and tried today CK3 and this issue rised for me.
My specs are:
Bash:
System: Distro: Slackware 15.0 Kernel: 5.13.6 x86_64 Desktop: KDE Plasma 5.22.4
Audio: Sound Server-1: ALSA v: k5.13.6 running: yes
           Sound Server-2: PipeWire v: 0.3.32 running: yes

This is odd. I have almost the same configuration and audio works perfectly in my case. The main difference I can see is that I am using GNOME. Maybe give it a try outside of KDE? When I start ck3 I have an audio stream named “PipeWire ALSA [ck3]”.

On latest Manjaro Linux the issue is still present, but I can confirm that installing pipewire-alsa audio fixed it.
Now the audio is back, thx.
