Short summary of your issue No Achievements unlockable despite the game saying otherwise

Game Version 1.1.2

What OS are you playing on?
Windows

What platform are you using?
Steam

Do you have mods enabled? No

Have you tried verifying your game files (Steam only)?
Yes

How much "pain" is this causing you?
6

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
In my current game, no achievements unlock at all. My checksum is vanilla, I am playing Ironman and the goblet symbol indicates that I can unlock achievements. Achievements worked in the beginning, but stopped working sometime later.

One theory as to what caused this: I subscribed to a mod, then opened the launcher as usual and clicked Continue. I immediately panicked, because I remember from EU4 that (at least sometimes) mods automatically enable themselves after downloading. I pressed Esc, saw that that was indeed the case, and immediately closed the game. I then reloaded the save after disabling the mod and was, at first, pleasantly surprised that the UI told me that achievements were still unlockable in my campaign. That, however, seems to be wrong.

As it stands, it might have been my own inattention that caused this. I want to report this issue nonetheless, so that at least mods will be stopped from auto-enabling themselves in the future.

I also started a new game and was able to normally earn achievements there.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Possibly: Start a vanilla ironman campaign, save, close, download a mod, load the save game, close, disable any mods that might have enabled by themselves, load the save game

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

I have attached a save game
Yes

Since it saves when you quit (as well as autosave intervall) that was indeed it.
Killing CK3 via the Taskmanager should have avoided that. No way for to write stuff down if the OS kills it.

Thank you for confirming my theory. It's a shame that happened. My Ethiopia campaign was blessed with insane amounts of luck, Africa basically conquered itself. Big bummer.
