This is due to our 1.1.1 change of defaulting 1.0.3 saves from local to save in order to alleviate the issues with cloud saves becoming inaccessible for some users. If you make a new save, you'll be able to select your preferred way of saving (cloud or local) and the option will remain.
If you need to keep your save on local storage, I would recommend reverting the 1.1.1 version to 1.0.3 until you have finished the playthrough.
