Short summary of your issue Interface - Call to War request window can be closed accidentally by checking a war with no way to recover it

Game Version 1.0.3

What OS are you playing on?
Windows

What platform are you using?
Steam

Do you have mods enabled? No

Have you tried verifying your game files (Steam only)?
No

How much "pain" is this causing you?
3

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
When you receive a Call to War request from an Ally there are normally 3 options: Accept, Decline or close the window (X on top-right) which turns it into a notification icon at the top where you can click to respond within the allowed time window before auto-Decline happens. However, I've found that if instead of doing any of these 3 things you open a War by clicking on the corresponding icon, the Call to War window will be closed without leaving behind the notification icon at the top, making it impossible to recover.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
When you are summoned to join a War by an Ally: leave the Call to War window open, go to your Ally's Character and click on the War they're asking you to join. The Call to War window will be closed without leaving a notification at the top. I believe any War will do, it doesn't need to be the one you're summoned to nor does it need to be related to you or your Ally.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

I have attached a save game
No

Yep. That's really annoying and want to know whats even more silly? That's actually the way you want to do it. Because "offer to join war" will give you far more opinion/get closer to forming friendship. Seems like an oversight.

Noted this has happened to me, although under the circumstance: clicking between the defender and attackers lands to see what the war will entail. I *think* specifically when navigating to the participants lands by right clicking the persons title (zoom to location function).

That's interesting. I was using that as the workaround whenever I accidentally close the window in the way I described, but I wasn't sure if the consequences were the same (I was concerned that perhaps I was still getting some negative opinion from a background auto-Decline, even if done fast). Clearly I didn't take the time to check carefully by recording opinions before and after in each scenario, so I appreciate the input! Probably an oversight, like you said.

I am also running into this issue as the call to war window doesn't give enough information and I want to view the war window to see more details but I keep forgetting that it closes the call to war window.

Yes, happened to me too also. I didn't decline but the request was gone the second I checked something else and after a month I got an opinion penalty because it auto-declined.

This just happened to me and "offer to join war" was not available as a workaround, because my ally was somehow out of diplomatic range. What is a workaround though is save and reload. The CTA is still pending, and the reload makes it appear again.

Is a good exploit to "accidentally" close the request , check the war and decide:

- if it's too hard, do nothing without any consequences...
- if it's easy: ask to join a war and get a big opinion boost

(obviously it's a bug that should be fixed, but until then... )
