To be perfectly honest, I don't really get this code.

But using this seems to fix it:

lines 1285 and 1427 are identical and both need to be replaced with this:

This is a very annoying bug. I am clearly not a vassal! I imagine it is a pretty simple fix and it'd be nice if they could slip this into the next patch.
