Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
My heir, who was my son came to power while leading a faction to get himself into power. When my character died and I took control of my heir, the event still fired demanding that I hand over the title or fight a civil war.
Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Have your son be your next playable heir, and as a vassal. Get him to form a faction that wants him to take power. Have your main character die, and take control of your son. Event then fires and allows me to put myself in power.
Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
I had other vassals that were upset at me, and were upset at my son when he took power. This may have kept the faction alive, despite them not like who they support
I have attached a save game
Yes
