Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
Failure to launch: error message, "We don't have read/write access to the directory with game data", then "Saving mod load order failed. Please verify the launcher has access to your Documents folder".

Please explain how to reproduce the issue


Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

I had this same problem and fixed it by adding an exception for paradox launcher and ck3.exe in the Ransomware Protection settings for windows. If you look in your block history there you should see some instances of paradox launcher and ck3.exe being blocked. Hope this helps!

Hi! Thanks for your report!

The game is indeed blocked by Windows Ransomware protection - allowing the game and launcher through should solve this.

As for MacOS:

I have the same issue but for a Mac! It won't launch

Can you see if the software is listed in your settings? MacOS sometimes blocks software from running.

Thank you I figured it out for the Mac! My Mac wasn't giving the game permission to access anything so I had to make sure I turned all the permissions on and restart my Mac. It now works!
