Short summary of your issue Crusader trait removed immediately after switching commanders

Game Version 1.1

What OS are you playing on?
Windows

What platform are you using?
Steam

Do you have mods enabled? No

Have you tried verifying your game files (Steam only)?
Yes

How much "pain" is this causing you?
5

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
I put my character as a commander in a crusading army. Some time after reaching the war goal and assaulting some forts I got the Crusader trait. At some point I merged my armies and my character was removed as a commander. Almost instantly I got an event saying I lost piety and the Crusader trait. This seems stupid and I could not get the trait again.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

I have attached a save game
No

I fairly certain that this is intended so that players don't just "game" it and get their character the trait and then immediately pull them out so they're not in any real danger--but there may be an issue if your character was no longer commanding as part of a merge. That is likely less intentional on the player's part (though I am sure that there are still players who would take advantage of it).

For what it's worth, you should be able to get the trait again. I went through and did pull my character out of command to minimize risk and got the same notice (where I found out this was a thing), but was able to get it back just a month or so later by putting my ruler back into a command position. Only thing I really lost was the piety hit that also comes with the event.

Yeah, I do not mind the concept of losing the trait if your ruler did not actually fight. I just think it should take some months after you remove him from command for it to fire. Second, if your ruler has been commanding armies for more than a certain time and has obtained warscore it should prevent the event from firing. If you fought in Vietnam for a deployment cycle but did not stay until the end of the war it does not make you any less of a veteran.
