Hello,

Sorry to hear you're crashing - do you mind letting me know if you have a crash folder of these crashes and if so could you please upload it to this forum thread and I'll see if we can investigate the issue a bit further.

You should be able to find the crash folder here: C:\Users\[USER]\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\crashes

Cheers,
Cederstronk

That folder is empty.
I had deleted the Paradox Interactive folder when I went through updating drivers and attempting a fresh install in case there were corrupted game files, but I did have this crash issue since then.

Hey,

Thanks for your reply - unfortunately it becomes really tricky for us to troubleshoot unless we have a crash dump. Do you mind giving me your dxdiag and PC specs instead? In case you're running on a low spec machine - maybe that's causing the issue?

Also if you could let me know if the game was crashing on previous versions as well or if it's entirely new to patch 1.2.1 that'd be great!

Cheers,
Cederstronk

I haven't used dxdiag before, but I assume you mean this file--it was produced when I clicked the 'save all information' button in the utlity.
I'm not sure which PC specs you mean, but hopefully this is a good start:
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 six-core processor 3.2 GHz
16.0 GB installed memory
AMD Radeon R6 380

Hello,

Sorry for not explaining how to use dxdiag - you've saved it correctly though!

It looks like your machine should be able to handle the game although you may want to experiment a bit with the graphical settings to see if that makes your session smoother.

If not I'm unfortunately not able to do much more unless you've got a crash dump from the folder I mentioned. I'll leave this thread open should that be accessible for you.

Cheers,
Cederstronk

Thanks. I'll see if lowering the graphics settings can help with stability.

As a follow up, I switched the game to the "Low" graphics settings option, and I have not experienced any crashes yet--I just created the kingdom of Ireland and am about to unify the island before dominating those bloody Danes oppressing my English and Scottish brethren. (This is much farther than I was able to get before.)
Thank you for the help!

Hey man,

I'm super glad it's working for you now and if I may be so bold I'd recommend you set your sights higher and unify all of Brittania - HAPPY HUNTING!

Big love from the CK3 QA team
