Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
The game randomly freezes after a few minutes of gameplay. The character doesn't matter.

At one point (I'd say 10-20min in max) all my games froze since the last update. This didn't happen at all before. The time stops, inputs (spacebar, 1-5) don't recognize anymore. Characters can still be selected with mouse clicks. Actions cannot be selected with mouse clicks though.
If I'm not completely mistaken I had dialogue options pop up before the freezes/crashes.

Quitting to the main menu doesn't fix it. I was able to start the saved game from the main menu. I get thrown onto the world map, can't start the game as any character. Quitting the game to desktop completely crashes the game (ck3.exe has stopped working). After this I was able to pick the character again in one of the game saves (doesn't automatically start when choosing continue in the main menu).

The save that I added is such a game that I could continue that then later crashed again. I played for probably 1 hour between both crashes.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
There's nothing I'm aware of besides playing the game that triggers this.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
What I tried: Verifying game files in steam, exception to the game in my anti virus, updated GPU driver

My CPU is barely above minimum requirement, all other components are well beyond recommended.

I'm using the Nameplates mod (disabled all others that I used before)

Hello there!

Thank you for the report! From what I understand you are saying that the game freezes without a crash after 20-30 minutes of game time. Does it happen only from the included save? Do you experience these issues with new games as well?

If you want to continue the save, could you also check if you can play it on the older version of the game on Steam (you can roll them back) and verify that the issue persists? Also, please try playing without any mods and see if that helps with the 1.1.1 patch.

Yes, the game doesn't directly crash and I can navigate to the main menu (though I can't get back in a game after this happened). Saving also seems to still work, though when continuing the save (after restarting the whole game) I get set back a short amount of time so I'm not completely sure about that. Only exiting to desktop crashes the game.

This issue happened 5 times now since the update. All games were completely new games and no older saves from the release version. I played twice as Hedwig, twice in Sardinia and once in Denmark - happened every time.

I will try both suggestions and post an update.

Update:

I tried playing without mods: Same thing. New game with Hedwig, freeze after about 5 years in game after an event. (I think it was a feast of a vassal)

I then played this new crashed save on 1.0.3: Game froze after several hours after an event. (found out murder secret)

Sounds grim. Okay, I'd like you to ask for a few things.
1. Please, give me your zipped crash folder that can be located in the Documents.
2. Upload your DxDiag as well to aid the investigation.
3. If you have not done some yet, try a clean reinstall. Uninstall the game as usual via Steam and then delete all files that are located in Steam folder (don't delete your Documents however, otherwise you'll lose saved data).
4. Contact Customer Support, they should also be able to help you troubleshoot game's stability in your instance.

Just got back from holidays.

1. The crash folder is empty, which is weird. It's the one under 'D:\Users\#####\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\crashes' right?
2. It's attached.
3. Will do right now and test it.
4. Will do if the problem persists.
