My ally is about to lose his war because his heir is captured. In actuality, it's not his heir. It's his first born son, who is a bastard, who is not legitimized.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Set up a war. Have one side have a first born child, who is a son, who is a bastard, and who has not been legitimized. Have the other side capture the bastard and see if it occurs again.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

Your dynasty member is only an allied ruler in this war.
Your are looking at the wrong heir.

I don't think so, unless I'm misreading something. I am not involved in this war.

King Helgi is my ally and cousin. He is matrilineally married to my sister. His first born son High Chieftain Aristarkh is a bastard, is not legitimized, and has no claims in his portrait. His spouse/liege Soja Sapmi is the main ruler in the war. Aristarkh and his spouse Soja have no children. Aristarkh is the only person of any significance captured.

After typing that out, I may have just realized why it reads that way. It is too late for me to check, but Aristarkh must be the heir to his spouses title since they have no children. That's the only non-bug explanation.
