As far as I remember, when someone tried to kill you, you get a legitimate reason to execute him or her but don't get one to revoke his or her title. It is understandable: execution is a harsher punishment than revocation and regicide deserves death. But, on the other hand, in terms of game mechanics, revocation is a far more powerful tool. That's why we're suprised we can't use it without gaining tyranny. From a gameplay point of view, it's illogical.

It justifies imprisonment, execution, and banishment, but not revocation.
The logic being, the man who attempted the murder of his King can be executed but his sons get to inherit his wealth and try again, and again, and again until one of them succeeds?

That seems like a poorly considered mechanic.

Regicide doesn't depend on genetics. ;)

I think he was more considering as if he were a player. The AI works differently, though, and not every character who stands to gain from a death will ceaselessly plot murder.

(At least I think not? The CK3 AI isn't as well-developed as the CK2 one was, for all its flaws, so I can't be sure! :) )

Yes but every time you execute a member of the family you get a -40 with all members of the family (or -80.) So eventually, it could become a spiral of hatred, as you keep executing one member after another, as they all attempt to assassinate your king.

Perhaps it could be but I never notice such spiral. You, as a player, have many tools to handle this kind of situation.
