Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
Since the release of 1.8.0 achievements sometimes display as not available when starting a new save in ironman mode; both using default game rules as well as old game rule presets which were previously achievement compatible.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Starting a new save in ironman mode both from the character screen and the play any ruler screen.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

Thank you for your report.

I've got to admit, that caused us a fair bit of head scratching - since achievements are something we very explicitly test to be working.


From what we've found so far, it looks like the "sometimes" is "if you at any time pressed "back" on the play as any ruler screen"(and then it will not allow you to earn achievements as "play as any ruler", but still allows them if you select a character from the bookmarks only) - does that match what you've seen?

Suffice to say I have added this to our database.

Had same problem, and yes, exactly that. Easy to reproduce by pressing back, which IMO many ironman players do as they want atleast some solid stats on their first character when they play ironman, or want some incredibly difficult stats for flavor like myself.
Don't get me wrong but this is a huge bug, hope it gets fixed fast. Not to be able to pick random rulers and have achievements available only because you are resseting the map.

Pressing go back to main menu also doesn't help. Same problem, not just back button btw.

Just like Durontan says it applies when clicking back to menu too. But yes, that seems to be the issue.

It sometimes works the other way around too. When the achievements aren't available restarting ck3 or going back to the menu (sometimes a couple of times), might make the achievements available. But I haven't found it to be reliable or easy to reproduce. It seems to take a random number of times refreshing the map/bookmark screen to make it work.
