Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
Exactly what it sounds like. When I try to move the jaw height- AND, UPDATE, MOUTH FORWARD slider in the ruler designer, the game hangs for a few moments, then crashes to desktop. It also crashes Discord (which I have running on the side in another monitor) but not any other programs I have running.

I've attached a copy of the genes I was using at the time.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Move the jaw slider to the right.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
I have no idea, but this is bonkers.

A lot of people have been reporting excessively high RAM usage when using the character editor -- some of them say that it caused their game to crash. It could be that your system couldn't handle the process. Try, perhaps, capping CK3's RAM usage to below 100%?

Thank you for the report! Unfortunately, the issue does not reproduce on our end.
We require the crash report folder of the related session to properly investigate the issue. Please attach the zipped CTD folder here, if possible.
CTD folders can usually be found at: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\crashes
Please do attach the whole folder.

Agree. I experience the same thing. The game uses a lot more RAM in 1.2.x and Ruler Designer is not very optimized memory management wise. Hell, the game is not very optimized memory management wise.

I also had a lot of reliable crashes with the ruler designer now. I investigated it a bit and looking at the error logs it shows "Not enough memory resources are available to complete this operation." See the attached folder. While using the ruler designer it can be using up to 7GB on my machine. This ruler designer is either in severe need of optimization or has some memory leaking bug it seems to me. It is absolutely unreasonable for an character editor to use this much ram.

It's a shame because this makes the ruler designer basically unusable for me for now.

Yup. I've had the same problem 3 times now. Usually what happens is that i spend some time in the custom character creation, maybe around 15-20 min, and then the game just shuts down before i get to finish.

I haven't even been able to create my first custom character yet, so i hope you guys figure it out soon.

Experienced a similar issue just now. The ruler designer was fine for about 15 minutes, then all of a sudden the game started to lag very, very badly while I was making appearance changes. It didn't crash but I had to exit to desktop because the game slowed down to a crawl. I never experienced any performance issues with CK3 up until now (well, aside from an abnormally high GPU usage, but that was easily alleviated by capping FPS to 60).

I haven't even been able to create my first custom character yet, so i hope you guys figure it out soon.

I've been facing a similar issue, and haven't been able to fix it either. For now though I've been using the Copy DNA and Paste DNA buttons at the bottom centre of the Ruler Designer interface. If you keep copying while you make your ruler, then as soon as you crash and re-enter the game you should be able to use paste and continue from where you left off.

Of course, if you don't feel like having to start the game again and wait through loading screens 4-5 times to make one ruler, it's probably best to wait for the next patch.
