Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
After launching a game and picking a new character the game will crash to desktop. Crashes just after "initialising game" becomes "loading game" on the loading bar. There's a similar bug report but I wasn't sure if I should add on to that as the information might be different.

The crashes also happened in version 2.8.2. I've tried deleting game_rules to fix it as suggested in other bug report, to no avail.

OS: Windows 10

Have you tried doing a full reinstall following the instructions on the other report?

If that doesn't work you should post your logs(exception log being the most important) and dump file.

Thank you, I tried the fix suggested in the other thread (uninstalling and deleting the My Documents files) and it worked. I had uninstalled the game on Steam but had not deleted the My Documents files.
