Sorry, I don't have a savegame. On certain occasions, I request to rank up in a society and the request is stucked, I never receive an answer. I can't request another advancement because "you already requested an advancement". I've always noticed it late so I never caught the problem, maybe the leader of the society dies after I have made the request?
Maybe you could clear the flag after some months so the player can request a new rank up
