Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I've had this happen several times, once against someone outside my realm and now against me: I get a button that says "Crusade against our religion". The first time it pops up I can interact with it and, in the case of the crusade against someone else, and myself to the defender side. As it gets close to the set date, the button is no longer clickable, and nothing happens. When I reload the button is there, with a different date. The only time I got away from this problem was when I didn't add myself to the defenders side before the war started and joined while the war was in progress.
I am playing as African Pagan (tribal). Both crusades were for France.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
I along with my co religious are far stronger than the crusaders so I think that's what's causing the issue, but I'm not sure. So far the only steps were to somehow get a Crusade against you, possibly have overwhelming odds in your favor and see if the Crusade launches.
