CK II NEWB HELP?

HI everyone. Played the heck (still do) out of EUIV and Stellaris.
I am about 30 hours into CK II and have some questions if I may?

-What is the point of education the females? From what I can see I cannot really do anything with them.
They cannot sit on the council or much else but when there are 9 female grandkids I have to educate em all.
Just not sure how to "use" them once they are of age?

-Why is the genius trait so good for a female? I have watched you tube vids of people gushing about educating a female with someone who has the genius trait.

You marry them for alliances. For the education see them has a free +10 opinion.

The genius trait is genetic so someone with it can give it to his children. Geniuses are prime wedding material when you are trying to create a line of God-king. I'm not sure why someone wants to see his daughters educated by a genius however. Sure the more points the educator has the more chances the kids will get some but still nothing too special about it.

Characters' stats and some traits are partially passed genetically. Also, female characters' education trait (Brilliant Strategist, Flamboyant Schemer, etc.) in particular can affect their fertility (high-level Diplomacy and Stewardship educations increase it, high level Theology decreases it), and they can in turn be used to train males for various roles. Rulers also add half their spouse's stats to their realm score in that stat. And you can actually appoint women to council roles:

• Anyone can appoint their wife or mother as a spymaster. Charles Karling, Charlemagne himself, has his mother Bertrada Charibertid as his spymaster, and she's integral to his storyline events.
• Pagans other than Aztecs or Tengri can appoint female chaplains.
• Cathars can appoint women to any council position.
• Conclave lets you pass laws to expand women's rights.

Oh - another one?

When I have a female in my realm marry someone from another county, country, etc - do they ALWAYS leave my realm?
So I spend 10 years educating some broad and she gets married and leaves haha... am I doing that correct?

The spouse always leave if it's a regular mariage. The man will come if it's a matrilineal mariage. Being a ruler take precedence. An unlanded courtier will always leave if he/she maries a ruler.

The status of women are not usually the highest priority laws (except if your objective is to build a dynasty of queens early in the game outside of ERE, India, Khotan or whoever already allow that).
But after I managed to get a good succession law (which require top priority technologies), these are definitly laws I like to increase. Especially getting the tier where women are allowed to become commander. It basically doubles your possibilities to get good commanders... more than double the chances in the case of foreign female commanders as you have more (and easier) options to make them join your court (invite, concubines, regular mariage, rarely in their liege's council) than males (invite, matrilinear mariage, often in their liege's council). The only problem is if they are married, they will not accept invitations.

The downside of increasing Status of women is that it makes you increase the tolerance technology, whereas legalism is usually top priority (and also majesty and noble customs for feudal/iqta).
