Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I can not earn Ironman achievements as the game believes that a save I have which is in ironman, is not in ironman. I have tried it with a couple of saves (new ones and old), and they are all turning up the same. I have tried restarting my computer and verifying my cache, but nothing has worked. Before this, the game kept on insisting that Steam be active. No mods are on, it is just plain old Crusader Kings II with expansions.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
I started a game, I played it, I saved, and then when I came to load it up, it showed that I could not earn achievements.

Old save games are not compatible with 3.0, so maybe they were created before 3.0 came out? Or did you make new ones?

Like I said, I tried old and new. The one which started me off was made specifically for Holy Fury.

You're right, it must be a bug then, except maybe if you got disconnected from steam client while playing.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK2 or Documents CK2 locations, before installing again.

I have this issue as well with a new Ironman save I had created when Holy Fury was released. It has a big red exclaimation mark on the Play button. Not sure if it's because I re-started a new non-ironman game after I did this one and changed some game rules (namely the Exclave Independence setting).

EDIT: After checking my Ironman save where I was getting this issue, I then went back and re-loaded my other save to continue from the load menu. Once in game I started getting the following error repeatedly and could not save SAVEGAME_ERROR_WRITING_INVALID. Quiting CK2 and loading back the same game fixed the issue.

The save is working again, but I did not get around to doing the uninstall and install. I do not know what changed, but I would like to ask. Why must we be online to get achievements? It seems overly cumbersome and makes life difficult for those without unlimited bandwidth or timed stuff.

I believe this is necessary to protect you from competing with cheaters who make adjustments to save files. If your saves are always kept and compared with the cloud, you have proof that they're legit. In terms of bandwidth, I believe the bandwidth use for this is pretty minimal - miniscule compared to streamed tv series etc, since only small save game data files are exchanged.

Yeah, that is true. This is really biting me though, as at the moment I only have timed internet and limited bandwidth every now and then. In order to try to get achievements, I need to load the save and then not stop playing that game until I am fairly certain I do not want to play anymore (in other words, I have had the game running constantly for days on end simply because I can not save and load it again without internet).

Besides that, is there not some other way to deal with that? And better yet, is inconveniencing the player base really worth it at this point? If someone wants to cheat for their achievements, it is no skin off my nose. If it makes them feel happier, then by all means. Why should we stop them if it means that much to them?
