I first became Hellenic as a duke by Delving into Classics. I then was elected emperor of the Byzantine Empire. Several generations later, I restored the Roman Empire. The succession type is still Imperial Elective, but there are no valid electors, and I cannot choose anyone, so it defaults to my first born son.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
Restore the Roman Empire. Try to make an elector.
