Game crashes when I try to remove tutor title

Court tutor does not seem to do his job after being given a landed title (bishop or mayor). Instead the king or a parent becomes guardian even if tutor is on council. If I try to remove the tutor title from this landed tutor, game crashes. This has happened at least three times. The only mods I use are to make the interface (text) bigger and easier to see.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
Assign tutor. Give landed title to tutor. Notice tutor is no longer functioning as tutor. Attempt to change tutor's honorary title. Crash. I don't know if it happens immediately or every time, but it has happened repeatedly. Possibly tutor has also been assigned as an individual guardian some time before crash.
