I made some tests with the setting DOGE_SUCC_RANDOM_FACTOR. It seems to have no influence at all on the doge succession in republics. I varied th values from 500 to 50000 and set up a republic in which at least the top 2 patricians have the same respect value. Then I started killing doges via console commands. The succesor was always the one shown in the republic screen, there was never a surprise on who would inherit.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
Change the value of DOGE_SUCC_RANDOM_FACTOR, choose a republic where the patricians have more or less the same respect value and console kill the doge.
