Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
When requesting a claim from the Pope, my character being Diligent (a virtue!) counts as -5 against me.

The target character being Diligent correctly counts as -5 against me.

I guess it's a copy/paste that's forgot to change the sign of the modifier.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
- have a character with the diligent trait.
- request a claim from the Pope
- examine the claim reasoning tooltip

If your Pope is slothful or a bad priest, he reverses his stance on diligent. It looks like that's what happened here: you being diligent is -5 against your request, while the target being diligent is +5 to your request.
