Do you have mods enabled?
No

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I cannot earn achievements due to 'mods active or different checksum' but I have no mods active, and I have not altered the game in anyway, I have verified the integrity of the game cache, reinstalled the game, and nothing seems to work. I am at the tipping point right now.

Try deleting the documents/paradox/CK2 folder (backup save games and anything else you might want to keep first). The game will recreate the folder and contents on relaunching.

If this then works move the save games back. This is usually caused by old mods or a corrupt file.

If that doesn't fix it, try reinstalling the game after uninstalling and manually removing the CK2 folder and contents from the steamapps location.

I tried just deleting the documents file, but now I'm reinstalling -- so I'll let you know how it goes.
