One line summary of your issue
3.0.1 On Losing an Imperial Election the former Emperor's heir switches to inland Republic

Game Version
3.0.1 CDYZ

What expansions do you have installed?
All of the above

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I lost the Byzantine Empire by election to the Strategos of Andrianoplis, then my next character became Emperor-Elect, murdered him and the former Emperor's heir is now an inland Republican ruler.

Which would probably have meant a game over for a player.

Notably, because I was so powerful the Emperor never usurped Constantinople from me.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
Have an Emperor who holds a city as his Capital instead of a castle and have his heir lose the election?

I honestly don't know - I've attached my save.
