Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Background: I am playing as a Bedouin Yazidi Merchant Republic. (Started as Dhofar in 867.) A while back, I conquered Mosul and proclaimed myself the Yazidi Sheikh (ie. Caliph). Shortly afterwards, Yazidi became the majority religion - Sunni became a Yazidi heresy, and the Bektashi Order switched to Yazidi. I did not bother vassalising the Bektashi. I recently finished a murder spree, whereby every other major patrician family was wiped out (coincidentally, I inherited a lot of trade posts). Ironically, I don't actually need the unlimited gold because I already have 300k...
Setup: As Yazidi Sheikh and leader of a MR, ensure that you have high intrigue and that there is at least 1 patrician with no living male relatives (eg. via mass murder).
Here's the unlimited gold loop:
- Donate 300 gold to the Bektashi for 300 piety.
- Repeat the following steps 6 times:
---- Excommunicate the patrician (lose 50 piety).
---- Imprison him (for free because he's excommunicated; may require high intrigue for 100% chance).
---- Execute him (for free because he's excommunicated; inherit 300 gold; a new patrician is immediately auto-generated with 300 gold).
Each cycle nets you 1500 gold, and there are no other costs (piety/tyranny/opinion/etc). You don't even have to unpause. The only limiting factor is boredom.
This is definitely a corner case and, as such, you might not want to try to fix it. But I thought I should log it here in case you're not already aware.
NB: This tactic might be much more widely applicable after Holy Fury is released - eg. if you can reform a pagan religion to have a secular religious head that can excommunicate.
