when i start the game, it opens the launcher just fine but after hitting play, everything freezes and the game crashes so it wont start up

The best advice is to go talk to the tech support forum about this. They can help you figure out what is wrong. It might even be a bug in the game, but just saying that things freeze on start-up doesn't help diagnose or fix the bug.
