Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
(Ironman) Just won an independence war (I was not the faction leader) against my liege, Abbasid Caliph. Now I'm an independent kingdom, trying to declare war on Abbasid but the game says I cannot as I, as well as my son, are held hostage by him. This is definitely not the case, as there is no indication for it anywhere, and I can lead troops and do everything I should be able to -- except declare war on him. I hadn't been imprisoned by him in the past, never lost any battles, i.e. no reason for me to have been put in his prison. The game does show my son and me as Abroad. At the time the war ended, as well as now, I was his guardian. I was also helping an ally as part of their war(s) when the Independence war was first declared.
I've tried restarting, allowing a few months to pass, ending all wars I am a part of, but the issue persists.
I do have the option to ask to ransom myself, though I cannot do it due to his opinion of me. However, I don't have that option for my son. Perhaps this is because he is a child, though, or because I am already his guardian.
The savegame attached is from a few days before my game's current state, a few weeks or months after the end of the Independence war. I don't have any earlier ones since I've saved over them. Since the save, I tried sending a gift to the Caliph to improve his opinion of me so I could ransom myself, but it didn't change the (Base Reluctance: ---) for doing so.
EDIT: The game may or may not have been created on 2.8.2. I cannot say for certain, but it would not have been any version besides 2.8.2 or 2.8.2.1.
EDIT 2: I actually just fixed it myself by going to war with a different neighbor, leading my troops, then when the war ended I was free. That being said, the fact that it occurred in the first place is definitely a bug.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
EDIT: 0 Create a game in 2.8.2 and play it in 2.8.2.1 (perhaps irrelevant, unconfirmed)
1 Be your liege's Marshal leading up to Independence faction presenting ultimatum (perhaps irrelevant)
2 Fight a war against your liege as a part of that independence faction that you are NOT the leader of
3 Do not become imprisoned at any point leading up to victory
4 Also be in a war as an ally of the defender that started before the Independence war (perhaps irrelevant)
5 Be leading troops, sieging your former liege's capital as the war ends (perhaps irrelevant)
6 When the leader of the revolt enforces demands, the game will think you are both imprisoned and not imprisoned at the same time, depending on what you are trying to do, e.g. can lead troops but cannot declare war on your former liege since you are a "hostage"
EDIT 2: 7 Resolved by going to war and leading troops, then when the war was won I was freed
