Hi,

I played arround with the FTM from Subterranean
Original FTM

Here is the result...

Download - Updated 22.April.2009.

It is intended to be viewed with GenoPro (shareware version is enough)

Full credit goes to Subterranean. I just updated things a bit.

EDIT:

Thanks to The Swert I found that the CK Vanilla (no DV) has problems
with the CK FTM, so I updated the program a bit.
Now there is a checkbox where you can select if you have a CK Vanilla.
The program will work properly. :)

EDIT:

I made a new update.
Now you can see the pic of the characters in the Family Tree.
Note: The program will create a directory "CKFTM_pics" in your "save game" directory of CK !
The pics are saved there.
There is a checkbox that you can use to select if you want to see the pics.

Example:

FTM_6.jpg

EDIT:

New update. "Strange" letters now appear correct in the names and surnames.
Also now you can see traits and titles listed in the Comments.

Examples:

FTM_7.jpg

FTM_8.jpg

Nice - will it also look backwards into the game's pre-play history? Or will the original patriarch be the initial ruler in 1066?

Thanks for this - a great resource!

Wait. The program does the geneology automatically, or we need to be putting the familly members one by one?

You have to select the first character from which you want to start.
The program then gets all of his descendants + their husbands or wifes...
(if you select Charlemange you will see how almost every big family is conected :D )

You can select how many generations to show and to show only descendants
from male or female children or both.

Tried it and, doesn't work.

"To run this application, ou must first install one of the following versions of the .Net Framework: v2.0.50727"

I installed .net Framework 3.0. and it doesn't work. :x

A very interesting and indeed fantastic tool. I am obsessed over family tree's and heritage, so I'm in love with this tool as much as the DNA Maker.

just a question...how to find my king in the save game?

Remeber your rulers name and his date of birth

1. Open your save game with Wordpad or Notepad
2. At the top of that file you will see something like this

Code:
name = "Stamford Bridge (1066)" header = {
    name = "NAME_1066d"
    tutorial = no
    startyear = 1066
    endyear = 1452
   [COLOR=Lime] saved = ENGL [/COLOR]
    optionmode = 0
    set_ai_aggresive = 2
    set_difficulty = 4
    set_gamespeed = 6

3. After 'saved =' you see what country you are playing in this case I play England (=ENGL)
4. Select ctrl+F and search for ENGL, until you see this entry

Code:
ENGL = {
        gender = male
        type = kingdom
        [COLOR=Lime]dna = "44246288844171" [/COLOR]
        title = { ENGL OXFO C022 C032 C062 C068 C069 C072 }
        }
5. dna is how your character looks, now copy this number and do another search by pasting it in the search-window
6. Once the search-engine has found a matching dna, check the charactersname and birthdate to see if it is your ruler and then you have found your current ruler

Code:
character = {
    id = { type = 4712 id = 1441792 }
    dyn = 755
    tag = ENGL
    name = "Olaf"
    home = 282
    status = yes
    date = "12900118"
    gender = male
    religion = catholic
    culture = "danish"
    score = { gold = 1957.307 prestige = 287.944 piety = 485.676 }
    attributes = "8.10.9.7.4.4.453751040"
    traits = { generous = yes fortune_builder = yes }
    father = { type = 4712 id = 1325258 }
    mother = { type = 4712 id = 1338201 }
    loyalty = 1.000
    dna = "44246288844171"
    }

hey all, i've decided to give this a try, but got a problem, i can't open my save games with wordpad s:
EDIT: problem solved, something was wrong with the file s:

I just tried this, have been using Subterranean's until now. However I get an error. As I press go it gets up to "Now loading all characters' details into a matrix for future use" before an error box pops up saying:

Unhandled exception has occured in the your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Index was outside the bounds of the array.

If I press continue nothing happens.

Hm... I never got this error.
Maybe you can try to see if you have the correct CK folder entered.
Or see if you have Installed .Net Framework 2.0.

Hope this helps

I checked the CK folder and i obviously have .Net Framework 2.0 because Subterranean's version needs it as well. It seems to be something in the programming.

Ok I now have it working although it doesn't have any of the coloured boxes or the red lines shown in the screenshots. Do you need the Genopro full version for them?
