CK crashing upon launch, ck2.exe missing [Steam][PC]

Dear Community,

I just picked up CK 2 during the recent Steam Fall Sale event. I downloaded it and clicked play. A Launcher pops up, I clicked on play again, wait a couple of seconds and then the game crashes for no reason at all.
I already tried a reinstall, I tried changing the resolution in the settings file, nothing worked.
What I also noticed is that there is no "ck2.exe" in the Steam directory just a "ck2game.exe".
Any Ideas on how to fix this?

8gigs of RAM
HDD: FAT32
Game Checksum: DPOO
Game Version: 2.2.1

There is no such file as ck2.exe any more. All anyone has is ck2game.exe

Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\DX\ and run dxsetup.exe

Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\ and run vcredist.exe

If that doesn't help, please try installing:

First: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8328

Then: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

(If that doesn't do anything then http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 )

Then: visit the Windows Update site and allow it to apply all .NET updates/patches it wants to, for all .NET versions.
