AH AH AH AH ! VICTORY !!! :rofl: ;)

I really think my formula is ok :
1. Remove dead childless characters
AND
2. Remove dead character without parents AND without any brothers or sisters.

Then, information stoked are :
character = {
id = { type = 10 id = 5506 }
dyn = 743
tag = FRAN
name = "Philippe"
date = "11650722"
gender = male
religion = catholic
culture = "frankish"
deathdate = "12250523"
score = { prestige = 832.299 piety = 1841.100 }
attributes = {
martial = 5.000
diplomacy = 6.000
intrigue = 6.000
stewardship = 7.000
health = 7.000
fertility = 6.000
}
traits = {
chaste = yes
energetic = yes
selfish = yes
proud = yes
canonized = yes
fortune_builder = yes
}
father = { type = 10 id = 5500 }
mother = { type = 10 id = 5505 }
loyalty = 0.880
dna = "08866169361056"
}
It is the Philippe of my exemple :D

We could perhaps remove score, attributes and traits (except sainted and canonized) for all died character without living spouse/childrens.

This formula is wrong.

If you go by 2, you will start "eating down" all genealogy trees from the first characters there (there is always a character in the beginning whio has no parents and may have no brothers or sisters, but who had dead kids - e.g. Charlemagne).

The formula should be: remove dead childless characters.

Period.

yes you're right...

1. Remove dead childless characters AND
But since if charlemagne is dead, doesn't have any brother, sister, father, mother, and have only one kid, he doesn't serve
2. Remove dead character without parents AND without any brothers or sisters IF this dead character don't have more than one kind.

I think its best to just remove characters who's entirely family line is dead.

That and if it could remove multiple claims.

That's right, but I think there will be little enough of these characters that we can leave them be. :)

The program appeared to launch successfully, with the comannd prompt/"DOS" window opening and saying "reading save file." Then the whole text of the save file passed through the window to the end. So it looked successful. But afterward the save showed the same number of MB as it had before.
Then it's working. But you need to specify the output file name otherwise the striped savegame is simply written to the screen. Use this command in the DOS Box:

ck-clean xxx.eug -o yyy.eug
in the correct directory

'xxx.eug' is the your original savegame
'yyy.eug' is the new file

Go to start menu -> Run ...
Enter 'cmd' or 'command'
Now do what sayagh said. Copy your save file to the ck-clean directory
then change your path to your ck-clean directory. And enter the above command.

And for all who want this tool changed. It's easy. Do it yourself.
klas_a has the source code released under GPL. That means you can download and modify the source as you like... :)

I'm sticky with Martinus post, with a little change

1. Remove dead childless characters
2. Repeat step 1. because some "dead childless character" could be a child of someone who now is became a new "dead childless character" (child removed in step 1 :D )
3. repeat... until you cannot remove any character more.

So you have get rid of D.C.C. as well of all "dead branches" of families.

oh yes, BTW, while you are doing all this stuff, remove multiple claims too ;)

ciao

There is maybe a character that isn't matched by any rule. How big is your savegame? Can you zip and post it somewhere so I can take a look?

ck-clean.exe "old.eug" -o "new.eug" --except-dynasty=200
Note you need the number of your dynasty. Open the savegame with a texteditor and search for the name of your ruler. There should be a tag dyn=xxx. This is your number

That's too bad. :( I just tried it and it worked. My game loaded fine. Except it did remove some members of my family that I didn't want gone.

Question: Had you loaded your save successfully before you ran ck-clean? Because if not, your save file could have been corrupt before and you just happened to run it on an already corrupt file.

Hopefully you made a copy of the file before you cleaned it. :cool:
