Hi, I just got Rome and started eagerly testing this second latest (HOI 3 includet :D) game from Paradox.

I started out as Rome and endet the war between Rome and those two other small nations, wich after I decided to annoy local barbarians by sending lone armies to the northern provinces, wich were not under Rome. Then the Barbarians would come, I would kick their asses and colonize the provinces.

Althought colonizing is kinda slowish before you can continue to colonize other provinces ruled by barbarians, I decided to wait out.

However, then I realized that one of my main armies didn't obey my orders. The general seemed to have "0" on loyalty and all of his troops were loyal to him.
I decided that he was a threat to the state so I sendet my remaining units in an attempt to destroy him... But apparently the generals were friends becouse after my warriors came to the province with bloodlust, they decided to join with the rebel general in a fancy tea party.

After that, I ordered the general to be killed by assassins... five times...
I seemed obvius that this man was shieldet by god and as the leader the general felt un-loyal got elected again and again and again I decided to simply disband all my other units and send him to Rome.

I waited for five years and to this day he still hasn't taken over...

Am I missing something?

1. Are you using EU:Rome? The VV expansion will not allow the same ruler to be elected for another 10 years.

2. Having 0 loyalty doesn't mean he has started a civil war. Do you have the civil war indicator at the top of the screen? Did any of your provinces change color to white? If not, then you don't have a civil war.

1: No, only the vanilla Rome.

2: That was not the point. The large army under the command of the un-loyal general is so inconvinient and after I failed to assinate him I WANTED the rebellion to start, but that's the problem, the man gives mixed singals, no rebellion has started.

Sounds like you're not using the VV expansion, in which case you wouldn't be able to see those icons. You'd have to imprison him manually: click on one of your provinces, find the Diplomacy button, and there should be an option for Imprison Character somewhere. I think. It's been a while...

Hope that helps.

I can only find "Assassinate" and "Create Trade Rout". Soo all those fancy words about imprisoning and so is only for VV?
Yes, all that came with VV.
