What i would like to know how hard is for a major like the soviet union that start as a farley communist state to have a civil war to turn democratic I know the devs said its possible for all countries but how hard and long it would take to do and how much these wars would drain your country

and if the AI will majors will start a civil war in their own country like germany going communistic

also if a country like america is in a fascist civil war can one side join the allies and the other the axis

1. It should be quite difficult. It's affected by how much support the ideology already has, and then of course you have to actually fight the war...
2. Idk if they will do so by themselves, but you can always support your own faction, and then attempt a coup, which may or may not start a civil war.
3. I'm going to guess no, but I'm not 100% sure.

As Mac Lazer stated, if say your country only has 5% support for Democratic, a Democratic civil war will have very little power and you would be very hard pressed to win such a thing.

When a civil war fires, you have the option of choosing which side you want to support. (so basically you choose if you want to play as Republican Spain of Nationalist Spain to give an historical example)

If I had to take an educated guess, AI majors will never seek to have a civil war fire in their own country, but through diplomatic actions and spending Political Power I think it's possible for players to both improve the support for a particular ideology and then trigger civil wars for said ideology in other countries. Again, the power of the rebelling faction will be dependant on the support for whichever ideology it is that you've supported in the country.

Ahh my bad. Well we don't have too much to go on right now as they've only briefly touched on it in the WWW streams and how effective they are wasn't explicitly stated as far as I'm aware in the dev diaries, but I imagine that it would be at least somewhat difficult for the most part to get the party you want in a position where a civil war would have the desired outcome. That said, I remember in the Finland WWW from last year with Jakob that he used his political power to hire a minister that increased his Axis leanings by x%, so I imagine you would use things like this to make it easier.

I've been wondering myself. As in if you started spending political power in 1936 to convert the US to fascist or communist, how long would it take and how expensive would it be, to get support to say 50%. Could it be done by 1939? Could most countries even afford the equipment/political power cost of funding a ideology shift and then coup in the US?

What about a small country like Ireland or Norway? Would it be faster, or just cheaper as compared to a country like the US?

Well if we look upon this civil war with a historical view of what happened.

#1 Russia/USSR consists of many nations and people, there should be uprisings vs Moscow.
#2 Italy after the surrender in 1943 sqw its people fighting eachother on Axis and Allied side.
