Well I am playing Savoy in Aberration and my stability is awful usually at -2,-3 and I keep getting civil war, I don't understand how this could happen, I have no rebels anywhere and I have several 20K armies stationed around my empire but they defect to the rebels so I am left with no army and my Uber-leader joining the rebels AND a whole bunch of rebel provinces, how can this happen?

PS do you get a +1 stability when you annex someone or is that in the earlier patches?

The stability has to be higher. Your low stability is triggering the CWs.

really? I thought you have to have 50% of your country under rebel control or your capital held by rebels for a year, thanks for the putting me right
you're probably thinking of goverment collpasing. Annexations doesn't give +1 stab afaik, but if you get dow'ed while youre at negative stab you get +1

This was in earlier patches. Famous Peter Ebbesen used it in his great WC:s.
