I think this is might be bragging, but it would be nice if certain provinces (let's say Virginia) could be zoomed in many more times, effectively allowing us to accurately model battles and strategy, making this game also a civil war strategy game.

Now since I don't think this game should be american centered, other areas of conflict should also be modeled this way...never mind the fact that I personally need to be enlightened on what other wars should be modelled in depth.


Why do I feel for some reason that the map is already set in stone and this could never happen...

Crimean War, Opium War, Wars of German Unification (Austria/Prussia vs. Denmark, Prussia vs. Austria, Prussia vs. France), British engagement in Afghanistan, various engagements in South America, Mexican War of 1848, Spanish-American War, Russo-Turkish War, Russo-Japanese War....

That would be great, but it would have to be done for all provinces, and I don't think they are going to change the map structure. I think the provinces are going to be smaller in this game though than they were in EU2.

scope of game

Nice? Yeah, but not in the scope of the game, I bet. HOI and EU(I and II), (I assume on the EUs) are strategic in a nature, not operation or tactical.

No, you're right on EU, but what I'm saying is it would be nice if areas of heavy fighting, like Virginia, be broken in to maybe 10 provinces, rather than only two or three. Of course, these provinces would each only have marginal tax values. With World War 1, this could be done on the French-German border.

´the game could be made somewhat tatica/operational by make a military map and an administrative map. the military map made up of smaller provinces similar in shape made only for military movement!

I like the idea, but the more micromanagement that needs to be done, the harder the game will be to play MP, because you would have to slow the game down more during wars and what not. Unless of course there is nothing to do during peacetime....

You'd just have to adjust accordingly, it's not to bad. I think this is a good idea, but may not happen for some time due to the taxing of the CPU. I see what you're trying to do though. :D

I think that, that would be a completely different game?

And not going to happen, and further not something I want to se in Victoria. There are plenty of tactical games out there covereing ACW and other conflicts in more detail - I want grand scale strategy :D
