City (urban) pictures

Does anybody have pictures of other cities than supplied by the game.
For example, it would be nice to have pics. for every capital. I know that it doesen't have any effect on the game, but some players like me are very happy with those little things.
And also where should I copy that files.

differnt photos for province can only work if it is a urban one,and fighting in urban provedence is much harder to attack and easier to defend

you will have to change your province file located in your DB folder.this download here includes a new province file(they take time to edit)

place the new photo's in your gfx/interface folder

Thanks! This is just the thing I've been looking forward to. It made me even more excited than doomsday exp.
Is everything ok with download? It says to me that i need more disk space. WTF?

Forget it. I read the thread and I have the problem of firewall on my university pc. I hope it will download on my pc.

Ok thanks. Are they in color?
Ranger mike says that i'll need to change the province file. Does he mean the one in excel? Is that because of the ID of provinces, and what are the values of let's say IC - default? I have them changed a bit (added for minor countries).

No, they are styled to look like the sepia-toned urban images provided in the game.

To place them in the game, you first have to identify the provinces you wish to change. In the game, identify the provinces you wish to change by hitting F12 and typing "showid". Run your mouse over the province and you should see the province ID number in the bottom right of your screen. Alternatively you can find the ID number here and here.

In province.csv (which you should open in wordpad or notebook, not in excel) there is a list of provinces and their attributes. The province ID numbers are the numbers on the far left. Go to the correct province ID and change the word "hills" (or forest, mountain, etc.) to "urban" without deleting any semicolons.

Place the urban images in the GFX/interface folder.

Load up the game and you should see an urban province with an image.

Would be great if we could have individual province pics not only for terrain = urban but for terrain = clear as well. Currently city pics will only show up for urban terrain. Even while i think this beeing not possible at the mom /not possible for hoi2 in general (maybe unless you modify the exe file) - but any ideas how this can be changed ?

What we've done in the 1914 is eliminate the urban terrain type and make it appear and function as a clear terrain type. This way you can get clear terrain with pictures.
