I know that my suggestion will probably don't be well received by many players, but... well, we now have futuristic city simulators like Anno 2070 and Anno 2205. So why Colossal Order don't make a City Skylines 2XXX? they could use their expertise in City Skylines to create a city simulator set in the (not so) near future? what did you think of this idea?

Paradox does not "make" Cities Skylines, it was developed by Colossal Order. Let them release "Mass Transit" before impatiently moving on...

I don't knew that too...:oops: Well let's hope that someone at Colossal Order is thinking about the possibilty of making a City Skylines set in the future. :p

I would like the original SimCity approach where it was near past and near future. You started in 1900 and that is why technology was locked out. Couldn't build highways or nuclear because it wasn't invented. And it had several future techs.

Even 2 scenarios one starting in like 1900 and in Las Vegas in like 2100 where aliens will attack. There was some future tech assets as well. It wasn't over the top like an entire future game just a handful of tech to makes things interesting once the year 2000+ came around since the game was from 1989!!!!

Simcity 2000 had the Arcologies and evetually when you played far enough they became launch Arcologies and could launch into space to find a new world. I forget about Simcity 3000 and 4. Think Simcity did Solar power before it was even a real thing.

But I do miss starting out in like 1900-1950 and watching the city change with time and getting new tech when its invented and the slight future tech you get to use was cool.

Establishing a city in the Victorian era and developing it through time into the near future is very appealing and is also firmly rooted in reality but I can really live without zombies, aliens and giant monsters in my city builder/simulator- there are plenty of other games that cater for that genre. I really hope that Colossal Order stick to the core appeal of Cities Skylines and are not distracted by shiny alien objects! I shudder at the thought of E.T. riding my subway!

As far as I know Anno 2070/2205 has no aliens -- it is just set in the future -- and that is what I truly want. Setting a possible City Skylines in Stellaris universe would be a bonus. A bonus that would finally sate the desire of some of the Stellaris fans (including me) of having of a 3D colony builder like the one in Imperium Galactica.

They could easily do it now with districts and themes. I'm surprised one isn't in the workshop already.

They could even do something like snowfall and make specialized maps for future, but not sure it would be necessary.

Well, there seems to be some futuristic styles already in the workshop. It may not cover everything, but there are lots of fancy buildings.

But having the developer make new games in the future allows their full team to work full time and actually get paid for their work due to sales profits. The problem with a massive complete overhaul (Like a year 2100 mod) would be finding people with the time, energy and dedication to do such a thing while merely receiving feedback in return.

Not impossible though of course, if I had the skill to make buildings and such for the game I would've for sure tried to get a historic complete overhaul mod going.
