Having just played through the demo, I'm wondering how the "real" cities compare with the tutorial city in terms of size. I'm asking in part because I think that a Washington, DC scenario for the US would make a lot of sense (in no small part because the low-rise development patterns found in Europe are also found in DC).

Also...does our building of a transport network affect how a city develops from the start of a sandbox situation?

The Size of the maps range from Small, to Medium, Large and X-Large. the tutorial map is a small 512x512 map. Vienna is a Large map 1024x102, and in the full game Berlin is a X-Large map.

For your second question, the maps don't seem to expand based on your transport system, also only the maps that come with the game will expand, no user made maps will.

Also...knowing Paradox games in the past, I'd be tempted to suggest that we should take bets to see how long it takes someone on here to figure a way around that limitation.

Well, I think the load system might be inside the code and not in the ressources (didn't checked). And this would mean a bigger work to get it out.
It's possible as it's always possible to modify a program but there are easy acces elements and hard acces elements. I think this might be a hard access element (for a full working one).
