Well then!

So I couldnt bother finishing the last details of the island (might come back later and finish it off)

Instead I went ahead and started on a new map.

Have only just started with the harbor, but here is a few shots of what I got so far:

I really like the challenge with a more mountainous map.

So far I havnt really gotten to the part of the map with the greatest elevation differences, but mostly I've been building the harbor and started on the connecting parts of the city. Here is what I got so far:

Starting of with one that should have been included in the last post, one of my favorites, so I just had to share it. The angle is a bit different compared to the one in the previous post :)

On we go!

The latest project is the airport.

Its quite an large airport with both domestic and international flights.

It consist of 2 runways, 3 terminals and a cargo hub. (some general aviation aswell)

The shots below show Terminal 2 and 3, which serves mostly international traffic.

Bare in mind the whole airport is still a WIP :)

Terminal 3 to the left and terminal 2 to the right.

Terminal 2, with two large gates and six medium ones.

Quite a view from that control tower!

A top down photo showing both terminals.

The idea behind the airport configuration is to simulate an airport that once started small, and undergone expansions as the time went on.

Until next time!

I've really enjoyed building this airport, and so much progress has been made! :)

Terminal 1 complete: Its used for short flights to the local islands.

I've completed the General Aviation area aswell (might add another one later):

There's pathways leading to a seperate "GA-terminal" terminal, which is connected to terminal 1

Heavy rain often bash the airport, and when it does you need proper water drainage:

Im now working on a remote stand, a hangar area and the runways/taxiway system.

Stay tuned! :)

amazing! please keep them coming. May I ask how you get some of your road to look cracked/old? I searched in mods and could not find that.

Thanks :) Theres alot of nice decals in the workshop which will give your streets a worn down look. Heres some of them:

These are incredible! Your rendition of Malmö was excellent! I can see my house! :D

Thank you mate!
There's some more shots in this thread: http://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/70770-project-x/?page=5
I do plan to finish the whole town at some point, although I think I would need to remake most of the stuff im afraid. Not sure when I will get to it though :)

I've completed a hangar area aswell as a remote stand.

Time for some expansion!

Due to all the new lovely airplanes and liveries out on the workshop i had to fit them somewhere...

So I expanded the aiport with a new international terminal, mainly serving long haul/medium distance flights.

12 large gates, 8 medium gates and 7 stands where added.

I tried to base the choice of airlines based on a Scandinavian theme:

In the foreground the medium sized gates, and further back the large gates

The new terminal is connected to the old ones using a automatic monorail (and by car):
