Green Estuary, a lovely region situated at a coastal area where two rivers meet. An area with fertile lands, massive forests and loads of resources. The perfect place for a small town to grow and become a world city.

I plan to place pictures of this city at each in-game start of a year.

2015

VoWNCjM.png

2015 was the founding year of the city. It all started with the town of Ford. A small town with some small stores and basic services. It's located just next to the highway for good connections to the other cities in the country.

MCag8po.jpg

As soon as people started moving into the new homes an industrial area was build to provide workplaces and goods for the shops to sell. Ford Industrial Park provides about 40% of the workplaces in the region and more then half of the citizens are working here. The towns fire station is located here as well as the towns landfill site.

KJvTOR1.jpg

A few citizens have also started some agricultural activities at the furtile lands across the highway. Greenfields is the towns main source of foods and just over 20% of the citizens are already working here.

XvBdMY8.jpg

The town is of to a good start and 2016 seems to be promising.

2016 was the year that the town grew out from a booming town to a big town. As Ford was expending the citizens started to request a new district which would give more room for expansion. The area next to the shore was chosen for this expansion and Evington was founded.

dZNeoOE.png

This also required more jobs, so Greenfields was expended and even got a windmill.

vc7oFOg.png

All these companies and citizens need to move and the roads got expended. A new freeway was built to connect Evington to the highway and industrial zones.

8cCC4US.jpg

New junctions were built to get all the trucks quickly to there destinations outside the region.

JzTpGIX.jpg

To further reduce traffic a bus depot was build and 7 bus lines were created.

w2k5wBK.jpg

All these companies and new citizens need power and the windfarm we built couldn't keep up, so our brightest mind came up with new advanced wind turbines that can be built on water and are more efficient.

SGZnOgi.jpg

The last major addition of 2016 were the new Yates Elementary and Ford High School. Now our children can get educated and are better prepared to shape the future for our great town.

DRolWik.jpg

2017 looks bright and will see more expansion of our town that will probably go out to be a city.

2017 has been about new districts. Three new districts (Trenton, Burton and Oakhills) were created to house the new citizens and provide them with jobs and shops, all to grow from a big town to a small city.

Oakhills is the new industrial area that focusses on forestry and it started late in 2017, so it's still a small district.

QGAN6eU.jpg

Trenton is the biggest of the new districts and is placed in-between Ford and Evington.

W08jUFO.jpg

Evington has been completed for now and has welcomed some great companies.

naIZhlF.jpg
8TKb31v.jpg

The city has also expended Ford Industrial Park to create more goods for the shops to sell to decrease the cities import.

67Vb1JT.jpg

The last of the new district is Burton that is still to be build, roads are build and it's waiting for the construction companies to build houses and for people to start moving in. This will be the big start for 2018 that will also see the city expending it's territory.

2018 has seen some expansion but was actually just any ordinair year. Some districts grew, some new companies came to the city and some fine new shops were opening for the public.

Burton was developed after the infrastructure and first buildings were realised back in 2017.

8iydE2e.jpg

Trenton increased its density and doubled its population.

hkquz0v.jpg

The biggest thing this year was the start of the construction of a new highway to the planned business district. It will take a couple of year before the highway is build and construction of the business district can take place, but we have made a start.

2019

WtyD4TU.jpg

2019 saw further growth of the city with the construction of a new district. It has also been the year of the new Power Plant, expanding borders and growing industry.

The biggest news in 2019 has been the new Geothermal Power Plant next to Oakhills. Once we realised that wind energy couldn't provide us with enough energy for the future a new direction had to be chosen, coal, oil, geothermal were they main contenders and after a lot of campaigning from the environmental groups the Geothermal Power Plant was build. It has been a big investment, but the future of the city is looking bright.

OcDF1EH.jpg

It also made it possible to build the new district of Tiffin a reasonably dense build district with lots of opportunities for shoppers and residents.

tBuyXPH.jpg

The extra cars on the road due to the constant growth of the city also required some expansion of the road network.

rAQSpjl.jpg

As we are moving to the 5th anniversary of Green Estuary some parks and decoration we're realised at Evington. 2020 will be the 5th year for our great little city and that deserves something special.

Ah thanks for using the recently added waterfront park asset. I wanted to see it in action before deciding to use it myself.
I like the autumn tree colours.
That's an interesting consequence of building out over polluted water.

2020 has been the fifth anniversary of our great city. Wat started out five years ago as a small town in the middle of nowhere has become a noticeable city with over 20,000 citizens.

2020 was the year that we expended our city with the new district of Delphos

OLqTRFh.jpg

And to celebrate the anniversary Delphos got a statue to symbolise the wealth of the city and the role our cities workers have played to achieve that

shJFxCU.jpg

The anniversary also lead to reconsidering the future of the city and a new district with office jobs was build to prepare for a future in which traditional industry becomes less important. Lettan Isle is the new addition of the growing city.

WSSAFLm.jpg

The city also build a recycling center to move towards a greener future

wid8JGn.jpg

The future of Green Estuary will be greener then it has ever been.

2021 has seen some new expansions and growth of the population. The city started building it's way to a planned downtown district that has to be build over the coming years. To get there 4 new districts were built (Newark, Camden, Kings and Walden).

mITPD5c.jpg

Newark Is the most commercial of the new districts and is located at the shoreline. It's next to Camden that also along the shoreline, but more residential focused.

KTdupoQ.jpg

Kings is a relatively small business districts with some commercial buildings and some offices. Walden is another residential district.

WstZwYb.jpg

2021 has also been the start of a train network for the city, big plans are in the making and the first cargo lines are already built. Connecting both Greenfields with a station and another station to serve Oakhills.

2022 has been all about the downtown area. The first addition was Renshard which is located next to Kings and Walden.

R8uWaCV.jpg

The second and third districts for this year were Lexington and Waldron which are both created to get more office jobs in the city. But the most important of the new districts is Trinity.

tLa8yT9.jpg

Trinity has to become the center piece of the city. It already has the central train station with multiple platforms.

JdRZATo.jpg

aVEtlV0.jpg

Next to Trinity Station is Trinity Park with Trinity Arch on one side and Richardson Concert Hall, named after the cities most important pianist, on the other.

UVEdEks.jpg

The city will further expand Trinity in 2023 and will try to get the worlds biggest companies to build offices and/or headquarters there.

Thank you. I prefer to see a city evolve instead of just seeing the end result. Besides that it's also a little experience in which I want to see the consequence of certain choices, that's why I'm also including the figures for each year. It's by far not a finished city and there are more then enough assets, mods and unbuilt land to continue for a while.

Trinity has been growing strong in 2023. What started to grow in 2022 has developed to a complete district in this year.

To sustain growth and make public transportation better for the current city and it's future the new train stations were build and new train lines were created.

Also the city is now big enough to deserve it's own university and GE Institute of Technology is now educating a couple thousand students.

2024

2024 has seen the creation of a few new districts (Port Cisco, Marion, Selmer and Redan). This also caused a significant growth of the population from around 35,000 citizens to over 42,000.

Port Cisco is created as the cities first harbor district although the harbours are planned as a future expansion. It's located across the highway from Trinity. It also provides the city with it's biggest hospital.

Redan is a new district to accommodate the growth of the city. It's build on across the river and got it's own highway connection that has to connect the new districts in this area, of which Redan is the first, to the main city.

Selmer is a new district that has to provide workers for a new industrial district for oil companies that is planned on the other side of the roundabout and of which construction will start in 2025.

The city is starting to create a name for itself and that gets new companies like the Marina Bay Resort to the city. More of these companies are showing interest in building offices, stores and even headquarters in our city. These companies will certainly shape the future of Green Estuary.

2025

2025 is the 10th anniversary of our city and for that reason I'm going to include a lot more information in this post like statistics and extra pictures. But first I will go about the year.

This year has seen a significant growth and the start of the oil industry. Olney is a growing industrial district with a focus on oil products due to the big oil field that has been found there.

Redan has been expanding to accommodate the new citizens that move to this city. It has more the quadrupled in size and is now the second district in terms of population after Delphos.

One of the biggest problems the city was facing was the quality of it's water. Due to the low speed of the rivers around the city sewage builds up quickly. The solution was to build new sewage treatment plants on the ocean shore to replace the existing ones. All new installation where build to treat sewage the best way possible. It will take years before the waters around the city are clean again, but we made a beginning.

The city is growing strong and will do so for the coming years.
