I'm interested to know if citizens can climb the economic ladder in the game. Can they go from poor to rich? If they can, does this mean they move to a better neighborhood or their house levels up where they are? I got the impression there would be poor, middle income and rich in the game but I could be mistaken. Could you create different districts of poor, middle and rich? Or will they be mixed?

Also, as young adults grow up to adults, I assume they have to wait until a house becomes available before they can move out of their parents basement? Meaning new zoning or someone dies/moves out. I assume this would show up as demand for residential. If no house becomes available for them (time moves pretty fast in the game) do they never get married and have children?

Do birth rates in the game matter? Since you are not isolated (like in Banished) and people can move in and out I assume birth rates do not matter in terms of maintaining a population (perhaps just impacts need for schools).

But I go to say I love your ideas about sims moving on and up in the world. The idea of growth happening from the inside of the city and to have stats on that would be great.

But I go to say I love your ideas about sims moving on and up in the world. The idea of growth happening from the inside of the city and to have stats on that would be great.

Dev dairies have said that all CIMS are born , educated and die. You will need cemeteries I guess?

Really ? Now I understand why its hard to simulate 1,000,000 people. That must take up a lot of energy from the game. By having Sims grow and multiply in the game. That a lot of data! What they should have in this game is immigration and employment game tool to edit who's coming and going through with their lives and jobs etc!

When a Sim person passes on will there be a grave stone that plops up in the cemitary stating who passed on?

That would be cool, the coolest game for citizen death was children of the nile, they had funerals then the family would walk to the tomb from the funeral home with the little casket, and then he'd be in that tomb dead.
Was great, and when your pharoh died he had a funaral and a big casket and the new pharaoh attended and the royal family in a glorious state looking funeral going to whatever tomb u built for your pharaoh. Was great.

But really i think it may be hard to do in this because the populations are so large. I would like to see traffic jams caused by funeral processions. Maybe just a dream, it is 2015 and 'children of the nile' was made back in 2004 i believe. We can always hope.

There be people passing on everyday depending on the size of the city. Some fans might look at that as quite morbid. But its a fact of life, and I think it would add to the game.

yeah needed to have a working funural home, guy who ran it needed his bread to eat somehow. Also citizens got mad if someone in their family died and they couldn't attend a funural, for lack of a working funural home. Or mabey there was no tomb available. Yes they would protest ol pharaoh for this, right outside his palace.

Side note: Children of the nile really had one of the best economys ive seen , baked bread is pretty much their currency but they eat alot of food including bread.

Anyway a small tomb stone for old CIMS wont be too morbid.

In some of the vids you can see a closer look of the cemetery and there are stones. It looks something similar to Banished in that the cemetery starts empty then fills up. Perhaps you have to keep adding cemeteries as the game advances. In Banished, after 100 years the stone was removed so as your play continued you didnt need to keep adding cemeteries everywhere. Would be good to know if that is how CSL works.

Anybody know about the neighborhoods and whether socioeconomic status would be homogeneous or is it going to be mixed? Not that it matters I guess but would be cool if you could delineate like in real cities.

Well i dunno about just for looks, i like everything to look good but be functional. In Children of the nile only the upperclass had funerals and graves. So maybe just make a hurst procession when a rich man who can afford the funural dies, so hursts are not everywhere. I know its sad but not everyone gets a hurst parade some are just put in a can and buried

But it is an essential service in society, not on an Egyptian scale but if there are graveyards i would like some function.

Looks are good but sometimes it bothers me when i know its not real or doesn't really contain a part of the game.

So increased education and availability of a better job increase the income of an individual. OK

But, what determines the individuals happiness with the living conditions. I'm pretty sure a wealthy cim, would soon abandon his trailer-park house and move into a villa. Does it work that way?

I feel that currently you can't differentiate between where the upper level cims live and poorer cims live. The neighborhood of the rich should look nicer than the poorer areas. Like simcity, it was pretty obvious which neighborhood had lot's of services and parks because you could easily see mansions. And you could easily see small cottages for the neighborhood that had no education or health services.
