I'm pretty certain they don't. Watching the let's plays it quite interesting within 3-4 years of game time High Schools are full of kids, despite children being born in the city from what I can gather. At least in Banished you can see them grow up, whilst in this game your population just ages quickly.

I would like to be able to do like in SC4 when you could follow certain sims in game, & you could see them age, work, live, & see what issues they had. I liked that.

Now that I have played a bit, I realize that the citizens go through their lifespan quickly...too quickly in my mind...but okay. It does make the calendar at the bottom left irrelevant. I too was hoping I could follow a family line (assuming there is genealogy built in) for several generations. Would be fun.

hmmmm i was wondering about this. The best game i thought was Children of the nile for this, i really liked watching family's and kids grow up see what they do for work and things later. Some even become rich nobles from poor peasant family.

Anyway i really wish it was tied to the calender.
