Question:
Does the name "Sunset Harbor" imply this will be the last expansion for Cities: Skylines 1? (As in it being the sunset of the current game.)
Speculation:
I could see CO wanting to take advantage of the increased (CPU) power of the next gen. consoles. Official keyboard+mouse support would be a boon for this kind of game, and there's a small chance MS+Sony might even allow modding. Any of that would make this the ideal time to switch to the next title, and shed some baggage. Release with the new consoles, or soon after - H1 2021?

Does this mean there will be a Season Pass 3 on console? Does that also mean a new Premium Edition and Mayor's Edition type release? Also, why are the Season Passes so expensive ($40). That seems a little steep when most all other games are at $30 or less.
Furthermore, when their titles go on sale, the prices don't make any sense. Recently the price of the Mayor's Edition was $30 (70% off). This included the base game and both passes (great price). When the season passes go on sale (which they rarely do) they drop to $27.99 (30% off). Seeing as how I have the base game, this is infuriating. A new player can get the base game and both season passes for less than what I paid for the base game. If I did buy the Mayor's Edition I would have two copies of the base game. But I can't sell my other copy, it's digital.
To be clear, I'm not mad that more people can play this great game for less money. I'm mad that an early supporter of their game is getting screwed over. Please, the next time that things go on sale, have the prices make a little more sense. I haven't seen any other publisher or developer have these sort of pricing discrepancies.
Even if you take sale prices out of the equation. The Mayor's Edition is $100 (base+S1+S2). Base game is $40. Season 1 is $40. Season 2 is $40. That is $120 total. I am getting this expansion pack even if it comes with a bundle that includes a radio station and a content creator pack.
I will have to investigate and get back to you on that.
It most definitely also comes as a standalone if you aren't interested in the bundle. Tomorrow the content creator pack will be revealed, so you can see if it's something that interests you.

JAM PACKED? all i see is content that would belong elsewhere.
fishing industry -> industries dlc
trolley busses -> mass transport dlc
new public transport -> mass transport dlc
waste and water improvements -> green cities dlc
maps, policies etc we will see what is to come
Eh, I'm eh about it thus far. I was kinda excited yesterday, today, not so much.
Ok so we can fish. It is fine, I suppose. I suppose I'd be just as excited if it were a gold mine, diamond mine etc. as well. Just not that excited, sorry. Same basic principle we already have. So for me it kinda falls flat as it is the same as we already have (ore, oil, forestry & farm), but different. So how will having dozens upon dozens of ships/boats affect puter performance?
And it does not matter like corn or apples what type of fish you have or don't. To me, eh, it loses some of its importance as a DLC when there is zero difference as you make/produce the same regardless. So that tells me I don't need anchovies and tuna as they are all unseen resources. Therefor IMHO, the new maps then lose some of their importance as it simply does not matter. It does not matter if you have corn or oranges like it will not matter if you have tuna or shellfish.
And water pollution? Does CO really think this is a challenge? It is not a challenge. How can it be? Is there a person alive that plays this game that doesn't know by now how water pollution works? They act as if it is some type of huge challenge not to have your fish get polluted. I'm not following this at all.
5 more maps? So more maps with more water, less buildable area?
I'm not going to comment on other aspects of Sunset Overhaul until they are released only to say, trollybusses? Busses with overhead wires? If so, you just made my head hurt

I think it is going to be a drain on my rig and my frame rate is going to drop playing with fish. The boats on the water the trucks on the roads, yeah my frame rate is going to take a hit. (Then again when I add all those private planes and private copters, I'm sure they will all have a positive affect on my frame rate!)
New Maps... their functionality, will be the same as any other I already use. I can't grade them yet but I will.
I'm hoping that in the upcoming days I'm left more jazzed than I am after today's announcement. I'm not dissapointed but I'm far from excited.

Is it possible to get this DLC prepaid before release thru compatible channels? Wish it would be for future reference.
