Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
So I have a very strange issue that I cannot find has been experienced by anyone else in my searching. Randomly (every 3 to 5 real minutes) the population of my city will increase by 1 million, before decaying back to the real population over about 2 minnutes. This does not seem to create cims that run around, but the electricity, water and heating demand spike proportionally so it is impossible to keep up, and autobudget attempting to makes me bankrupt (infinite money, but still).

I am modded as you might expect, and I've checked all the possibly suspicious mods for incompatibilities or this issue but can't find any, including with compatibility report. This started happening randomly one day when I started the game - no new mods, one new asset (that I've since removed to no avail), and no game update I don't think, so this is very strange.

The problem save has a population of ~100k. The issue began immediately upon loading not after running for a while, so I doubt it is a population threshold issue for the optimal population for real time to function properly, but it may be possible. This issue does not occur with a new city of 200 left to run for a while.

There are no messages in the debug log or reported issues with compatibility report, so I'm at a loss of where to start troubleshooting aside from unsubbing from mods one by one, which as you can imagine would be a terrible time. Perhaps we can identify a suspicious mod, or there's a different log I can check?

Can you replicate the issue? If yes, please explain how you did it.
Load the save.

Please check your mods against this list:

If you still get this problem after removing or replacing any bad ones, attach here the game's log file:
...\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data\output_log.txt

Good luck!

I've checked the list, no issues. Here is the log file; I had a quick scan, maybe I should consider removing continue junction medians in general, but I didn't see anything specific to the population spikes. This log was created after letting the population spike twice with simulation running.

I am experiencing an identical issue to the one you have described, did you end up finding a solution?
Unfortunately not. I haven't played too much since, but when I have I've just dealt with it; fortunately the save is still playable. It brings me some relief to know that at least one other person has experienced this XD

Out of curiosity, do you have a similar list of simulation mods?
