Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Game is not starting, not from steam and not from running the "Cities.exe" directly. This is on a brand new MSI GS66 with maxed out specs (64gb / rtx3080 / i9). My son has been running the game for 100 hours on my previous workstation (a HP) but it never worked since I updated my work laptop to the gs66.

All other games (including other steam games) are running butter smooth and no problems at all.

We are on the latest nvidia drivers. Also tried to uninstall the game and reinstall multiple times. If this isnt fixed I would like a refund for both the game and alll the addons my son has bought / got for birthday and christmas.

Can you replicate the issue? If yes, please explain how you did it.

not from running the "Cities.exe" directly. T

The Steam edition of the game can never be started from cities.exe directly, it must be run from the Steam PLAY button.


From that screenshot, if it never gets any further than that, you have a Steam issue, not a launcher or game problem.

First please try a Steam Flush Config

Steam Support :: Clear download cache

support.steampowered.com

If that doesn't help, let me know and i'll lay out the process to do a clean reinstall of Steam and game.
