Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
So after intermittent troubles over the last week or so city skylines won't launch from the steam launcher.

About a week ago I started noticing a bug where if I quit a city to the main menu I couldn't click on anything. Then in the last few days i couldn't save and the game was moving slower. Now the game won't launch.

I thought a mod or some of the additional assests i subscribed to was the issue at first, since I had loaded several new ones and unsubscribed from others over the same time period, but after trying to launch with noWorkshop it still didn't launch. I reinstalled the game and still nothing. I've unsubscribed from everything and tried again, still nothing. No idea what the issue is.

I pulled the output_log report from the steam app city data but didn't see anything obvious.

Windows 10 64 bit
Intel i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.60 GHz
16 GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1560 with Max-Q

Can you replicate the issue? If yes, please explain how you did it.
Issue happens when ever I try to launch the game, with or with out mods enabled.

I unsubscribed from the bad ones (Automatic Bulldoze V2 and Network Extensions 2) and the issue persists. Issue also occurs when unsubscribed from all mods and assists. Is there more to removing a mod than unsubscribing? If so i'm not sure how that is done.

In your Steam Library right-click on this game and choose Properties. Click on Set Launch Options, and paste this in there:

-noWorkshop -disableMods

For anyone else that views this I had a launcher problem.

In the log file:
"ColossalFramework.PlatformServices.PlatformServiceNotRunningException: Platform service is not running. (Steam-Steam)"

The following i found (incedentaly by Andrew T on another post) fixed it.

- exit the Steam app entirely
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder I had to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- ran steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- ran CSL from the PLAY button in Steam

The game thinks that Steam is not running. Are you starting it from the Steam PLAY button? Or a desktop shortcut or directly from File Explorer?

So after I got it working again, i closed city skylines out and went into the work shop and re added my mods and assest and tried to run the game again. This time it failed again. So something about the mods and assests is causing the launcher to fail? New output file attached.

I was starting it from the steam play button. The paradox launcher pops up and i hit play again and that's when the initial failure occurs.

Please try a **clean** reinstall of Steam and game:

- Remove the game from Steam (uninstall)
- exit the Steam app completely
- Manually delete all these files and folders, if still there:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\
...\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\255710\
...\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines
(first move the /saves/ folder elsewhere to keep your save games)
(To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer)

- delete everything in the Steam folder EXCEPT steam.exe and the SteamApps folder
- run steam.exe to rebuild all that

- Install the game again and see if it runs now.

I think that did it. Game is launching, i've re activated my mods and they don't seem to be causing any issues or preventing the game from launching. Games are saving, and some of the other issues seem to be gone.
