Cities: Skylines (Steam) isn't launching but shows it's running

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
For the first couple days of playing, the game was loading just fine. However, after not playing for a couple of days, I tried loading up the game. It never showed up on either of my monitors and shows that it's running in steam, and the paradox player is running in my task manager. Everytime I close the paradox player, the game stops running but when I launch again, it still doesn't show up on my screens even though it says it's currently running.

Can you replicate the issue? If yes, please explain how you did it.

You can bypass the launcher by following these instructions:

- Download the attached cities.bat.zip file
- extract cities.bat from it
- Place the .bat file in your game's Steam folder (In the same place as your cities.exe)
- Right click the game in your Steam library
- Go to properties
- Select Set Launch Options
- Copy and Paste cities.bat %command% into the input box
- Select Ok
- Run the game
