So I have had about 50 or so hours (at least it says that on steam) of playing cities skylines. I feel that even though C:S is an amazing game, it lacks one thing..... events. After a while of playing the same city, it gets boring. You can build a giant city but, after you do that, what next?

Just imagine.... you have a city of 150k people living in peace and harmony and suddenly 25% of your citizens are killed off. That would make the game much more difficult and fun!

In certain events, it would be cool if you could control the emergency crews in some way or form. (Make them preform actions.)

Here are some ideas:

Heatwave
Heatwave drives up the usage of power and water. Elderly or young citizens could be affected.

Car Accident
A car accident of 2 or more cars happens and slows down traffic greatly. You would have to plan to re-route others if the accident blocks the whole road. You could also have the emergency responders go to the scene.

Hurricane
Strong winds and strong waves crash into your city. You may need to have emergency services rescue people. You could also issue advisories to keep people inside/close services (schools, work etc.)

Sports Events/Rockstar
Thousands from neighboring cities flood the roadways and could create accidents too making your roadways even slower. People could demand a refund if they don't reach the stadium due to traffic.

This event could also include things like award shows, Olympic games etc.

Tax Spike from Federal Government
Tax spikes make you need to conserve money.

Earthquake/Tsunami
This one is pretty straight forward. Maybe the emergency crews could go rescue people. It would be cool if more buildings than just the RCI buildings were destroyed (roads, parks, services etc.)

Riots
Your citizens can riot against certain things and destroy buildings. This could cause a increase in crime.

Thunderstorm/Tornado
Citizens could try to avoid to be outside at these times. Power lines could possibly be knocked over and crews have to go fix them.

CLIMATE CHANGE
Over tens or hundreds of years, your city could slowly change by having more pollution, death, storms, riots etc.

This event could have many other ideas involving it included.

Flood
Water levels rise and stay there for weeks, months or years. This could also be a side effect of climate change. Citizens may have to be rescued and move out eventually.

Space Activity
Space debris or comets could come crashing down on your city.

Super Crime
This could consist of people being afraid to leave their homes and could make them move away.

Criminals could take buildings hostage and police would have to respond. Penalties could result if you they don't handle the situation properly.

Slowed Economy
Citizens may move out or they may not buy as many things (upgrades). This could happen for a variety of reasons. They could be, people not going to work because of other events (crime), slowed trading, people moving out, prices of things going down etc.

Booming Economy
People would upgrade faster.

Agree with several of your suggestions. Deepe economic/political simulation would be preferred. Please no silly aliens/giant reptiles/robots/zombies etc. I just want a realistic city builder/simulator that allows me to express my creativity and face a degree of challenging intellectual play- not lets just destroy my city after 100 hours with a meteor strike or alien invasion

Sport events or music festivals with crowds of people would be nice. But I am also more concerned about deeper economy, more resources, chained production facilities and cargo facilities. I also prefer NOT to have aliens and these crazy things.
