My number 1 mass transit request is..... LESS TRUCKS. Like almost all my cities I ever build, almost all traffic problems from train traffic to road traffic is all caused by having too many trucks. I realize I could just build offices and use industry less often, but that is boring to me. I just want fewer trucks to spawn, please. You can even go ahead and increase the amount of car traffic that is fine with me since their is so many options to move people around.
Livestream recording from EGX Rezzed with @Co_Karoliina
Expansion related gameplay starts at 22:55, everything before that will be included in the free patch (save for those new maps that are tagged, I believe). There are also some features during the expansion gameplay that Karoliina mentions being part of the free patch, such as more highway types.
The upcoming patch will not remove anything from the base game, so I don't understand how older maps wouldn't be compatible with Mass Transit. Tagged maps are just additional content for expansions, not functionally separate.

Recently I started using this asset: Hway to Grid by armrule, found under Intersections in the Steam workshop.
I find that my truck traffic is a million times better. I still try to put a freight railway to each industrial entity (circle) with sea-freight as near as I can get it. You should check it out.
Earlier today I forgot about this, and went back to the old way... lots of straight grid streets... in no time I was swamped with TRAFFIC! So I deleted that whole section of my city and redid it with armrule's asset... problems solved.
This is what I mean when I have said that we need "UNBUNCHING" for the buses/metro/etc. I have not yet heard a response. You can see it still happens in "Mass Transit" in the material that has been released so far. Perhaps the more people that ask, the better chance of a response?
Why announce the DLC as coming soon already at 28th of February? "Soon" seen in the perspective of world's history, then its very soon. Compared to a heartbeat "soon" is an eternity.
Please provide a more specific time, or at least a week. There is already a plan, or at least it should be, so it would not be difficult to do so.
Its a DLC, not a fresh developed game........
you'll know when it's due for release as the developer diaries will be weekly rather than fortnightly. As i've said before, i would expect the DLC to be released mid May

Well at least CO/PI are more reliable with "soon" than, say, Valve are!
But seriously, it's a marketing tactic used in all sorts of industries and allows you to start building awareness/hype earlier as well as multiple bites at the media apple (first announcement, announcement with release date, announcement of release - some companies even go further with pre-announcement announcements).
Well... Saw the youtube for the next expansion... and I found myself disappointed... maybe I was expecting to much for a "Mass Transit" expansion. Ferry is good and cool... blimp!? seriously? We don't even use this mode of transport anymore! Helicopters would have been a better choice! We could have add a working helipad on buildings! (would love to see Gula Tower to have a working helipad!) I was expecting to have many road options as in Network extension that I don't use because it corrupts the save game... I was really hoping for this... I would have love to have an Above-Metro/train system like in many "real" cities. I don't know what is their buzz with the Bus Hubs... Why have 8 buses entry... half would be enough... you can place more than one bus on a bus stop, like in real life... the bus stop near my home is like 6 bus routes on one stop. Also, I would have loved to be able to go INSIDE my tunnels... not only black holes. Network thing does it, why not integrate it in the base game and not corrupt save game!! I'm sure they wouldn't mind to have there code in the base game... ask them and had there names to the credit! Anyway, not sure I will buy it... hope they'll add much until release!!
I too think the blimps and cable cars are a bit silly, especially when they could have added better things like subway to rail lines, working marina's, amusement parks, or even more bridge styles...like a single highway bridge? 99% of big cities have them! Most divided highways don't turn into two bridges but merge onto a large bridge like the Golden Gate or Brooklyn bridges! (I hope there are more bridge styles than they showed us in the video) Overall though I'm excited about this DLC....I suppose they can't make everyone happy...but seriously...blimps?
My first thought was "Ferries, Yahoo! Cable cars? Really? Blimps? WTF?!?"
But after a bit, I kind of thought they could be kind of fun. I don't want to spam my cities with them, but on a not too crazy level, I think they could be neat.
I suppose it's just a matter of personal opinion, and I don't hate the idea, they do look good (better if the advertising space was optional) but I would still like to see the other things I mentioned over blimps, especially being able to run metro to rail and large suspension bridges that handle two lanes of highway.

Given the choice between the two, I would take the "metro to rail" stuff over blimps too, but I suspect that something like blimps would appeal more to the (I suspect) large number of more casual players. Probably a few other things I might prefer too. Larger car ferries in addition to the passenger ferries.
I was not really looking forward to the blimps, and while they are not my first choice, I am warming up to them.
