Yes and no. New game on a new platform means, rebuy DLCs for the new game as sad as it is. Thus I've already planning on giving paradox my bank info so they can charge me directly that and save time too.Already spent a bit of money on CS1 DLCs...hopefully CS2 has all that content built in and we are not required to purchase DLCs all over again for CS2
Why rebuy? Could it be possible that most of dlc purchased in cities skylines 1 is standard gameplay within the game already? And that the new dlc is going to enhance the game from there?Yes and know. New game on a new platform means, rebuy DLCs for the new game as sad as it is. I am pessimistic in this regard. Take a look at the latest Paradox Interactive releases. They come out empty, and if it's a continuation of the series, like CK3, then most of the DLC mechanics are not in the descendant. But we need to wait until the developers provide us with information. Because now the trailer is just a beautiful picture with very little informationWhy rebuy? This is one aspect about Cities Skylines 2 that does concern me.
Cities Skylines has tons of DLCs and even more expected soon. Now I completely understand that it would be completely unreasonable and probably near impossible to have Cities Skylines 2 integrate all core DLC features from Cities Skylines so this is do not expect at all. I highly expect Cities Skylines 2 to have DLCs just as much as Cities Skylines.
But because of this it is a concern that Cities Skylines 2 will be an empty shell on first release and so a lot of players might decide to just stick with Cities Skylines and not bother with Cities Skylines 2 because of the lack of content. Yes the lack of content will probably be fixed after a year or so of DLCs but if not enough players jump ship and buy Cities Skylines 2 and the DLCs then Cities Skylines 2 might end up failing.
That's unfortunately the core model for Paradox Interactive. If people would stop buying all the watered-down and overpriced DLCs then we wouldn't be here, but alas...I have one rather straightforward request: Please do not release a stripped-down base version and then 1000 dlcs over 8 years...
It will be available on the latest generations of consoles. So I don't see any worries about it. Consoles have finally been made at least more or less normal in terms of hardwareThat's unfortunately the core model for Paradox Interactive. As for CS: II really don't know what to expect. But since it obviously will be on consoles too that puts a giant dent in my hopes for what the game could be in terms of complexity and scale.
It's bcs of people like you that big corporations like EA, Ubisoft and now Paradox keep getting away with that bsYes and know. Yea what you said makes 100% sense. GREAT point! Because talking to a nerd friend myself, the DLCs for CS1 ARE NOT coming over to CS2 because its a different platform. Different platform/console equals new coding equals new DLCs. Sorry. This is one aspect about Cities Skylines 2 that does concern me.

It will be done, so start creating meshes right now.we need MOD support from the start so the community can add tons of things...
The devs have already stated that they intend CS2 to be as mod-friendly as the original game.we need MOD support from the start so the community can add tons of things...

Awesome and thanks for the updated info.Colossal order has just announced and confirmed that this is the last dlc coming next week and May. This is a proper send off for cs1 paving way for a sequel cs2 to start and that May is going to be a major update on cs1. Can’t wait![]()
